Information stored on your device

To make the Site work, we store small amounts of data in your browser using local storage. This includes your saved favourite restaurants, your light/dark theme choice, and whether you have dismissed the launch notice. This data never leaves your device, is not transmitted to us, and you can clear it at any time through your browser settings.

Location data

If you tap “Sort Near Me”, your browser will ask for permission to access your device location. Your coordinates are used only to sort and measure distance to nearby restaurants. To calculate walking distances, your coordinates and the coordinates of the restaurants currently on screen are sent to the public OSRM routing service. We do not store your location, and we do not use it to identify you. If you decline the permission, the rest of the Site continues to work normally.

Third-party services

The Site relies on third-party services to function. Map tiles are served by OpenStreetMap; walking routes are calculated by the public OSRM demo service; “Directions” links open Google Maps. The Site is hosted on Vercel, which, like most web hosts, may log technical request data such as IP address and browser type for security and reliability. Each of these providers handles data under its own privacy policy.

Cookies and advertising

We do not use cookies to track you across other websites. The Site may display advertising provided by third-party vendors, including Google. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user’s prior visits to this and other websites. Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this Site and/or other sites on the Internet.

You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google’s Ads Settings (https://www.google.com/settings/ads), or opt out of a third-party vendor’s use of cookies for personalised advertising by visiting https://www.aboutads.info.

Children

The Site is a general-audience information service and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “last updated” date above. Continued use of the Site after a change constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
