Where to go with your dog in Kai Tak
Airside, the large mall above Kai Tak MTR station, has the densest run of approved dog-friendly restaurants in the area — cafés, pizza, Vietnamese and coffee roasters spread over several floors. A short walk away, The Twins and Kai Tak Mall add more casual dining, while K.Summit and the Kai Tak Sports Park’s Dining Cove and North Garden put options right on the harbourfront.
The appeal of Kai Tak is that the eating and the walking are in one place. The Kai Tak Runway Park and the harbourfront promenade run along the water’s edge, so you can combine a long walk with a meal without moving the car. The Cruise Terminal rooftop park at the far end is one of the largest open green spaces in urban Kowloon.
Getting there with your dog
Pet dogs are not allowed on the MTR — only assistance dogs are, plus the separate Light Rail pet scheme in the New Territories — so plan to arrive on foot, by taxi or by private car. Not every taxi will take a dog, so a carrier or a mat helps, and it is worth confirming with the driver before you get in.
Buses and taxis serve the district well; door-to-door by taxi or private car is usually simplest. Bring a carrier or mat to make a taxi ride easier to arrange, and once you arrive the malls and town-centre streets are comfortably walkable between venues.

Being on the approved list means a restaurant may admit dogs from 9 July 2026 — it does not set the house rules. Each venue decides the details: whether dogs are welcome throughout or only in a certain zone, whether they may sit on chairs, and whether a cleaning charge applies. Check the restaurant’s customer notice or call ahead, especially at busy times.
